MEET DR. RAWSON
Dr. Taylor Rawson DDS, MNS
Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Taylor Rawson was born in Utah and he was raised in California where he graduated high school in Mission Viejo.
At age 3, Dr. Rawson used a permanent marker to color on the exterior of every single door of the brand new cabinets that his family had just installed in their home.
At age 4, using a water hose Dr. Rawson was able to fill his family’s basement with nearly 6 inches of water before his parents discovered the fun.
At age 5, Dr. Rawson learned to ride a 50-cc gas-powered Honda motorcycle.
At age 6, Dr. Rawson and his best friend packed up their backpacks and rode that motorcycle to a neighboring town (don’t worry, they were only gone for 16 hours) where they ate some food with strangers, built a fort up high in a group of trees and stocked it full of rocks. To his surprise, when he and his best friend returned home very late that night, Dr. Rawson’s parents and a group of neighbors and police officers were both happy and and unhappy to see them.
At age 8, with the bases loaded, Dr. Rawson hit a double that won the game and sent his team into the Championship Game. He was carried off the field on the shoulders of his coaches. A few days later, he didn’t get a single hit against the slowest pitcher he had ever seen and his team was blown out in the Championship Game. Over a few short days Dr. Rawson experienced great joy and pride along with sadness and heartache. What a range of emotions that was.
At 9, 10 and 11, Dr. Rawson won the Newhart Elementary school jog-a-thon race (the last year he tied for 1st).
At age 13, Dr. Rawson batted 3-for-4, and turned an trick double-play as the second baseman for his team, the Dodgers, in the City Championship Little League game.
At age too-old-to-count, in a single meal at his favorite restaurant (IN-N-OUT, of course) he ate 3 double-doubles, 1 cheeseburger (all without tomatoes and onions, because they are gross), an order of french-fries, part of a milkshake and a large soda. He was really hungry. His only regret was that he didn’t order a 4th double-double instead of that cheeseburger.
Other Accomplishments:
Dr. Rawson took a break from college to live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a missionary for two years, earned a Bachelor’s degree from BYU, was a high school teacher in Chandler, AZ, earned a Master’s degree from ASU, earned his DDS degree from USC, worked as a General Dentist for a few years, then earned his Pediatric Dental Specialty Certification from the NYU Hospital Residency in Alaska. He previously served as adjunct faculty at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, and since 2017 has served as adjunct faculty of the USC School of Dentistry.
Dr. Rawson’s favorite things to do all-time:
Spend time listening to his wife, Sara, laugh. It is the best. He also loves spending time doing anything with his children – going out to eat, riding motorcycles, going to the lake or beach, cooking, going to a baseball or football game, or even just running errands.
